The antibody detects several isoforms of Aβ, such as Aβ-37, Aβ-38, Aβ-39, Aβ-40, and Aβ-42. The antigen for this antibody is not 100% conserved in rat. However, the antibody detects mouse Aβ and the mouse and rat sequences surrounding the antigen are 100% identical.Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the amino terminus of human β-amyloid peptide (Aβ).
